Over five days and 100 km of walking, you’ll journey through the vast, untamed beauty of the Bo-Karoo in South Africa’s Northern Cape, exploring the landscapes surrounding the small town of Vosburg.

Your all-inclusive slackpacking experience includes hearty farm-style meals and warm, authentic accommodation on working Karoo farms. The route is considered moderately challenging, offering a fulfilling adventure that rewards your effort without being overly strenuous.

Whether you are an experienced hiker or simply seeking time to unwind and reconnect, the Vosburg Camino invites you to walk, reflect, and experience the Karoo in a way you will never forget.

Operating Months:

March
April
May
August
September
October

These months offer the most pleasant and stable weather conditions, allowing you to enjoy the tranquillity and natural beauty of the Karoo at its finest. We pause operations during the more extreme seasons, the cold winter months of June & July, and the intense summer heat from November to February, to ensure your experience remains comfortable, safe, and enjoyable.

Although all groups may not all follow the exact same 100 km route, starting and ending points can vary slightly due to logistical arrangements. However, all accommodation options used across the different itineraries can be viewed on our Accommodation page.

We completely understand that every hiker has different preferences. Some enjoy self-carrying and camping, while others prefer the comfort of a fully supported slack-packing experience.

We currently do not offer a self-carry/camping option, as the route crosses private farms and the experience is built around farm stays and hospitality.

However, the Vosburg Camino is fully all-inclusive, making your experience truly special and here’s what sets it apart:
